Build-a-Bot

Wow, I am SO impressed with the teamwork skills that I saw today while you work hard to assemble your robots! Look what you've accomplished by working together!!!

What was your biggest problem that you had while building your robot?
How did you solve that problem?

After you've commented on this blog post, I'd like you to add some voice comments to the following VoiceThread...

when i built my robot the first robot in my life i was surprised and my biggest problem was find the most smallest pieces in the box

i love make the robot it was fun

pretty much evrething was hard.

when i has looking for a peace in the tray but i could not find it. When i found out that the tray came off.

Most of my problems with this robot building today was building the basics and I solved the problem by asking my partner.

Hey I have another Q&A for you The Salmon Guy,

Do you do tech stuff everyday?

My biggest problem was building the motors in the first steps of making the robot. The Salmon Guy came and helped us to put together the small pieces.

The hardest part of building the robot was trying to copy the robot from the picture because there was no words.

when my robot was done i put a arm is play around with it.

The biggest problem I had was that when it went to turn and it started doing doughnuts.

when i was looking for a peace in the tray but i could not find it. when i found out that the tray came off.

My problem was making the eyes and some of the basics were hard too and finding the small pieces was also very hard I solved my problem by asking my partner ( bluejay ) If she didn't know I asked the teacher .

The pieces were hard to put together because they were small. I solved my problem by getting help.

The biggest problem was holding onto tiny pieces and trying to put the parts into the tiny holes. The instructions were easy to follow. Following the diagrams that were clearly illustrated. I don't know who had more fun the rest of the team or me. I really enjoyed myself. I think the everyone had a blast because of all the laughter, smiling faces and the comments. Like AWESOME, so COOL and I WANT one.

Mine and my partners problem was that we put the wrong parts in the holes and me and partner fixed it.

hey the salmon guy>

what did you like in IGNITE CAMP?

when you build your robot was it or is it hard?

i loved building my own robot.I think the hardest part was to build the censers. I named my robot wally.IT was SO much fun IGNITE camp rocks!

venus girl y are u so very curious????
about mr.mckiels technoligy stuff

Today we bilded a robot. It was hard to pick up the little pecics in the box.

I think every thing was hard.

The hardest part of building the robot was putting the smaller pieces in the robot. What would be your hardest part?

Because I like to learn alot of stuff just in case in comes up in the future....

hey math all-star what did you like in IGNITE CAMP?

Our robot is starting to look like Wall-E...

The hardest part about building the robot was finding the pieces because they are tiny. I solved that problem by working together with Angel.

AND yeah math all-star>

was it hard to build your robot?

Today we biulded a robot. It was hard to pick up the little pecics in the box.

I thought this project was to easy to build. I didn't have to look at the book. I maybe looked at it once. I had fun building the robot on my own. I think there could have been more robot commands.

jr i liked building the robots and snap circuits in IGNITE Camp so theres your answer Cya!!!

oh i never thought of that venus girl thx for the fabulos answer bye-bye!!!!
CYA!!!>.<

I was kind of lucky today because I have already had the opportunity to build a robot - so I had some previous experience and a little knowledge! My challenge was that I had only built the simple robot before so I faced new challenges by adding on the sensors. I solved my problem by following the illustrations/directions in the book VERY carefully.

Again I was amazed by how well the students worked together! You have all been terrific! I am pleased with the conversation that has developed surrounding your learning - you really are taking charge of your experiences!

yo yo yo man it will be cool if we can do snap cercats.

@RJ - There are lots of things that I have really enjoyed about IGNITE@Brooklands! If I had to pick some favourites, I'd say:
- all of the support that we've received from our volunteers
- seeing all of the excitement and engagement when all of the students are discovering new things
- the teamwork and the collaboration that are taking place at all times in the classroom
- and sharing my knowledge with the students and staff here at Brooklands :-)

@VenusGirl - Do I get to do tech stuff every day? Yep. And, more often than not, every night ;-) I spent far too many hours a day 'plugged in' to technology...

However, I love to learn and I love to help others to learn about new and exciting ways to use technology. So, I never get bored when it comes to doing 'tech stuff'!

Maybe we can start Day 3 of our IGNITE Camp in Queen Bee's room with some of the different ways that I use technology every day...

I think that would be a fabulous way to start day 3! We would love to know how you use technology in your day! I bet we could generate a lot of conversation from that.

mr miceal can we do snap cercats agen pleas.

I can't wait to build a robot!!!

Taking the computer apart was the best thing about IGNITE.
