IGNITE @ Brooklands

well i would try and make my robot play soccer or i wanna try and make my robot do a 360 and ride on both wheels. And it was a little bit hard to put the pieces together cause their were a big variety of pieces.
 

making the robots where a little hard and easy but finding the right pieces where hard to.
 

I think the kids will really enjoy programing there robots tomorrow. There is many things to do with your robot when programing, making your robot make noise, Talking, Turning, and programing your robots to do all these things at once. I can't wait to see how much fun the students will have tomorrow.

I think that you guys have done an absolutely amazing job working with the robots. I was great to see you work together with your partners and try new things. I think you have all learned so much without even realizing it! Just imagine what an awesome job it would be to work with different types of technology as you have over the past few days... something to think about! I am looking forward to seeing how you will program your robots to do different things - it is really amazing to see all of the different functions they can perform. What an amazing experience you are having... be sure to share with your families at home!

it was fun when you got to build robot some was hard and it was cool and tomorrow we are programming it.
 

It was real run building a robot with my partner. It was fun when I programed the robot to go straight and turn when I had programed it to. Then I added a light and a arm in the back. One of the arms detects things in front of it when it is going to crash into it. This was very interesting. I would like to program my robot to be able to maybe golf. I did not program my robot to change when I clap but I would like to program it to move, turn on clapping.

I would like our robot to do lots of stuff like talking, moving around and sing. It was really hard to building it me and my partner was having so much fun doing it. What would you like your robot to do?

me and my partner named our robot Taylor and it is a girl.
 

What I want the robot to do is fling balls up in the air. I also would like to make it do cool stuff like fight or do some flip in the air. I also may would like it to go fast like 200 miles per hour.
 

I want mine and mr . L's robot to be able to turn when it touches a chair leg.

It was fun making the robots but my partner(Cutie 97)was adding so much things and making the robot more cooler and think it is to bad and saying it is not done let's put more and make it cooler and it's hard even making it but it's fun to have the time to build robots and have fun doing it.
 

tomorrow my partner and I want our robot to talk, dance and sing. We also want it to do other stuff like go fast, listen to us, do tricks and see where it's going.
 

I want my robot to change directions when it hits something.I want to make it dance.I want my robot to say its name.I want my robot to run fast like the wind.I thought building was cool it may have been hard but fun.
 

Tomorrow I want to programe so that when you tell it to go a differnt way then it will do what you say.aloso I want it to talk and dance around the room when I was building Ineeded some help but utther wise I. had a grate time.

@DMAN - There is a way that you can make your robot talk with your own voice. I hope that some groups are able to try that tomorrow!

@Joe - I'm also excited about you (and everyone else) being able to show your robots to your parents. I hope that many families come out to our evening celebration to see all of our hard work :-)

@brooklandsdude - One of the sensors that can be added to your robot is a touch sensor, so it would be pretty easy to make your robot change directions if it hits a chair leg!
 

Today was a very interesting day watching all the students creating their own robots. They learned to follow directions by looking at the pictures and found that it was a great team effort. Some robots beeped, some would even work with clap commands. To see the students change and add programming within the robots nxt brain was amazing. They learned that by trying different programs they could get their robot to do many things that they wanted them to do and this made their robot personalized to their imagination. Oh to be in grade 4/5 at Brooklands. This is a fantastic experience.

I really enjoyed coming to your Ignite Camp Celebration evening. There were so many smart students and robots around. I saw robots that spun in circles or responded to clapping. I even saw robots that danced together. I also saw a lot of students helping each other and some also helped me with my blog. Thanks for inviting me to join you this evening. The parents and teachers of this school have very good students. I wish students at all schools could have as much fun and learning as you have.
